After my cancer diagnosis I was anxious and confused. Although I had great support at home I felt I needed more help without burdening my nearest and dearest. I called in at CSY where I was made to feel very welcome and put at ease by the friendly staff.

After a chat about my needs and the therapies and services they provided I decided to have counselling. Later I had massage therapy which helped me to relax and ease some mobility problems.

Following chemotherapy I felt well and had time on my hands, so I decided to volunteer at CSY. I 'meet and greet' at the centre and work as a driver. It's so rewarding to be involved in supporting and empathising with others, who like me, are living with cancer. It's great working with lovely, dedicated people, in a really friendly atmosphere.
