Rebecca, Landlady of the Fountain Inn on Victoria Road recently held a games night and a charity event called ‘Fountain Fest’ in honour and in memory of Wendy and Jim, two loyal friends of the Fountain and the community of Eccleshill.
Rebecca said “We wanted to raise funds to support a local cancer charity based in Bradford and chose Cancer Support Yorkshire. The games night raised £161.50 and Fountain Fest raised £1,061.15. Wendy’s nephew, Jordon helped with the tombola and raffles, and they were a huge success with all prizes being generously donated by customers, and local businesses. The honesty BBQ box also contributed to the funds.
In total we raised £1,222.65! Both Wendy and Jim would have been pleased to know that the money has gone to a charity local to them both which supports cancer patients and their families.”
