STEPPING OUT on Yorkshire Day

Stepping Out on Yorkshire Day!

Our Bradford Centre held its first 5k Step Out Walk on Yorkshire Day to raise awareness and funds for the Wellbeing Service which offers counselling, complementary therapies and groups.

The circular walk started at Cottingley Community Centre and took us into Myrtle Park, Bingley, an alternative route, to the one planned.  It was changed due to the having so much rain in the days leading up to the event which left the paths along the River Aire too muddy and risky.

Well, we wa rite lucky on’t day (Yorkshire twang meaning ‘we were lucky on the day’) because despite the previous bad weather we had a warm dry evening for the walk.

There were 24 participants plus our wonderful Marshals.  Each participant was asked to try and raise £30 each to cover the cost of a counselling or complementary therapy session and they all far exceeded this.

We quite honestly can’t thank them and their kind sponsors enough for raising a staggering £1,765.00!

This means that we offer counselling or complementary therapy session

to help the wellbeing of 59 clients.
