5K Walk Success

Thank you to our wonderful participants and volunteers for helping to make the Step Out Walk a success.

We set off at 6.45pm on September 1st from Apperley Bridge along the route planned for us by Kevin from the Bradford Ramblers Group. Kevin led to walk, assisted by marshals from the group, on the circular route that took us along the riverside, under the viaduct and up to Woodland Drive, taking in some fantastic scenery.

The walk was one of our ‘33 Challenge’ events to celebrate the charity’s 33rd Anniversary.

Our aim was to promote good health and to support our Wellbeing Service which helps local people with the emotional and physical effects of cancer, through counselling, complementary therapies, and group work. All participants were challenged to raise a minimum of £33.00 to cover the average cost of a counselling or complementary therapy session.

Every one of them surpassed the expected amount to raise a staggering £1,434.00!
