Jans Doing a Wingwalk for CSY

If you have visited our centre in Bradford, you surely know Jan Mustchin, a long time therapist, sessional worker and friend of CSY.

Jan has been involved with CSY (which was then called Bradford Cancer Support), for almost 15 years, having contacted us soon after she retired and began to study counselling & EFT. She actually introduced EFT to the charity and it has proved to be an invaluable source of emotional support to many who have tried it. So much so that we have extended provision of this service from an initial 1 afternoon a week, when Jan first started, to multiple sessions by appointment throughout each week.

Jan now runs the Carers’ group which started as a 6 week pilot 8 years ago, facilitates a learn EFT group and has also run a Health and Wellbeing Support group for our clients.

During lockdown, the 1-2-1 therapies, wellbeing sessions, and groups were provided by zoom and telephone. This has been very successful and will continue, even though face to face appointments have been reintroduced at our centres, and the carers group meet weekly in person again.

Jan receives wonderful feedback from clients for the services that she provides. Why, just this morning, a client emailed to say “I am always looking forward to my next EFT session, Jan is a really nice therapist and this technique works wonders.” We agree! and are so pleased to have Jan on our team.

A keen lover of adventure an adrenaline, Jan has climbed the Sydney bridge some five times over the years. Whilst she doesn’t like the sound of a bungee jump or being thrown off a bridge, she has always wanted to do a wing walk, its just one of her life’s desires.

Now is the time, and Jan has taken the leap and booked her Wingwalk for Sunday 28th August this year, making it a fundraiser in support of the charity that she already gives so much to.

Jan, who celebrated her 77th birthday in March this year, is also looking forward to becoming a great grandmother in July 2022. This is a very special and exciting year for her.

We’re so excited that Jan has decided to make this life long dream a reality and to do her Wingwalk in support of CSY, the charity that she is integral to. Jan’s personal aim is to raise £5000 from this personal challenge to contribute towards supporting local people who really need it. You can sponsor Jan by visiting her just giving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Jan-Mustchin
