The team at Cancer Support Yorkshire (CSY) are working from home, continuing to provide services to clients over the telephone and online.
A few weeks ago, I answered a message from Philomena (Mena) Williams. We had a lovely conversation and she told me about a ‘Go Fund Me’ page she had set up in the hope of raising £500.00 for the charity. Mena said: “If it wasn’t for CSY, I still wouldn’t be diagnosed with lung cancer and they have helped every step of the way. My hair was already falling out, so I decided to shave my head.”
It is quite overwhelming to know that during these difficult times people are doing wonderful things to support each other. Mena is doing this and, at a time when she is going through so much herself. She is an inspiration and we are delighted to have made such a positive impact to her life.
