Carer

If someone close to you has recently received a cancer diagnosis you could be feeling a little bit lost.  You will be there to support and care for them throughout their cancer journey whether that’s physically, emotionally or both.  It can be a very difficult time, but whilst you are taking care of everyone else, who is taking care of you?
  • Our WELLBEING service is available to help with the emotional impact of a loved one receiving a cancer diagnosis. Our complementary therapies, counselling and groups give you the time you need to discuss how you are feeling in an impartial setting. We know what is important which is why we set up a group specifically designed for Carers – spending time with people who truly understand your situation can be extremely therapeutic and just what you need.

  • There may be FINANCIAL implications to consider too. Will there be changes to your existing benefits? Are you likely to lose income due to giving up work? What will the impact of becoming a full-time carer be?  Our Welfare Rights team are able to provide practical and financial advice, guiding you with questions you might have.

  • INFORMATION is important and we have a team dedicated to providing PRACTICAL information relating to a wide range of subjects. If you want information about a specific cancer and treatment, if you want to know how to talk to children about a cancer diagnosis or you simply want information about travel insurance for an upcoming break – we can help. Whatever you need we are here to offer tailored support that’s right for you.

All of the services that we offer are free to access and completely confidential.  There is no other service quite like it in the local area and we are proud of that fact.  With centres in Bradford & Skipton it is easy to access, simply call 01274 77 66 88 to make a referral or just drop in for a chat.  A cup of tea and a listening ear might be all the support that you need or it could be the first step towards a happier you.
