Your company is successful because you are passionate about what you do and here at Cancer Support Yorkshire we are passionate about what we do.

Current research shows that 1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime, so the chances are that you will know someone who has been affected.  If that person happens to be a member of your staff team the emotional impact that this might have on your organisation could be huge.

Our services are free to access and are available to anyone who has been affected by cancer either directly or indirectly making our support vital to those who need us.  It currently costs £800,000 to run our centres – that’s £385 an hour and as we head towards our 30th year we are increasingly looking for ways to secure our future.

There are so many ways that local businesses can get involved and help make a difference to cancer patients and their friends & family in the local area.  By working with us, you will help those affected locally and at the same time improve your staff morale and sense of purpose as they proudly work for a company that cares.

  • By choosing Cancer Support Yorkshire as Charity of the Year you are investing in our organisation and helping us to secure our future.  You could help us to continue our work by working in partnership with us now or in our 30th Anniversary year and possibly beyond.

Many companies get involved with local charities for many reasons but whatever they may be, charities are extremely grateful for the much needed support and we are no exception.

By partnering with Cancer Support Yorkshire as your Charity of the Year you can:

    • Demonstrate to customers and clients that you are helping local people affected by cancer
    • Meet your organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility objectives
    • Secure positive PR
    • Display your logo on our website and ours on yours
    • Motivate staff, encourage team-building through fundraising activities and have fun!
    • Offer in-house group wellbeing support, provided by us, to employees affected by cancer who cannot access our centres due to work commitments.

  • Your donations are always appreciated.  You can make a financial donation through this website – every single penny helps! Give Today!

If you have spare stock or items we can use, Gifts in Kind are always

welcome for raffles etc. and don’t forget we have a Preloved charity shop in Skipton which will accept good quality second hand items for resale.

We are also lucky enough to have clothing banks at key locations in the area but we are always looking for more sites.  Maybe your organisation has space to place a clothing bank on site, through staff recycling you can help raise valuable funds with minimal effort.

  • Why not hold a corporate event in Aid of Cancer Support

You could organise a Big Brew coffee morning, have a dress down day or even have an internal competition e.g. a staff bake off or a Cancer Support Yorkshire Daisy Bear.

There are lots of ways that you can encourage your staff to get involved  in fundraising but if you would like more ideas please call our Community Fundraisers for a chat – Tel: 01274 202226.

  • Your employees are amazing!  As well as working for you they get stuck in with events, challenges and fundraising.

By match funding the amount they raise you can help your company achieve its Corporate Social Responsibility targets.

We think match funding is amazing because it raises money for local people affected by cancer and helps us secure our future.

  • Sponsoring an event is a great way to gain brand exposure, PR and a positive caring reputation.

We have a number of event sponsorship packages available which can be discussed in more detail with you if you would like to see something more tangible for your charitable donation.

  • If you want to build great teams why not get your staff volunteering?

We often have specific volunteer opportunities available at our events which could include:

    • Stewarding at the Moonlight Walk
    • Taking part in a local supermarket bag pack
    • Collecting donations at events.

Opportunities vary throughout the year depending on our events, but we can work closely with you to develop a mutually beneficial relationship.

To discuss any of these fundraising opportunities in more detail or to chat about another idea you might have please get in touch as we would love to hear from you.
