As an independent charity it costs £800,000 to run our centres in Bradford and Skipton every year and this is only possible thanks to the generous donations we receive from people who find ways to help.
We know that our support services are vital to local people affected by cancer and this is why it is so important that we are here now and in the future. There are lots of ways that you can get involved and help:
We currently have lots of empty donation boxes in our store cupboard patiently waiting for new homes. Our donation boxes do a fantastic job of raising awareness for the organisation but also importantly they bring in vital funds – approximately £100 a year. £100 will go towards providing a course of complementary therapy for someone emotionally & physically struggling with a cancer diagnosis, alternatively it will help provide vital transport services to patients who have no other means of getting to important hospital appointments.
There are two ways that you can help us place a donation box:
- If you have a connection with a local business, community group or school you could approach them about placing a donation box for us.
- You could place a donation box in your own home and use it to donate any loose change.
If you know of a donation box opportunity please contact the Fundraising team to have a chat.

We collect your old clothes in clothing banks – easily identifiable with our logo, which we operate in partnership with Recycling Solutions. They collect, sort and recycle your unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags and textiles and we receive a percentage of the recycled value.
We have banks all over the Yorkshire district – each one raising awareness about the charity and all of them helping to support those affected by a cancer diagnosis in your local community.
We urgently need new sites too – established recycling areas, community centres or business parks are ideal! If you know of a possible site near you, please contact the Fundraising Team – 01274 776688 or e-mail: email@example.com
If you spot any problems with our Clothing Banks please contact Recycling Solutions direct:

Everyone has that one piece of jewellery that they haven’t worn for years and need to re-home, that single earring that lost its partner or that broken necklace that just can’t be repaired.
Whatever it is that’s lurking at the bottom of your jewellery box it could be turned into valuable cash for Cancer Support Yorkshire.
We have the facility to recycle precious and non-precious jewellery in return for cash which will then be used to support our amazing clients. If you have items that you would like to donate to then please drop them in to one of our centres marked as Jewellery Recycling for Fundraising Team.
Alternatively if you would like to discuss Jewellery Recycling you can contact our Fundraising Team on Tel: 01274 77 66 88 or E-mail: email@example.com
We have a number of exciting events that take pace throughout the year all intended to raise important funds for Cancer Support Yorkshire whilst having fun. The events that we run are varied in theme and location so hopefully there will be something for everyone.
If you’re looking to spend quality time with the family then why not come to our Enchanted Woodland Event or our Pumpkin Procession for a fun day out with the kids. Fancy a quiet meal with family or friends at your favourite restaurant or one that you’ve always wanted to try then give one of our Dining Club Events a try they are held regularly throughout the year. Maybe you love a boogie or want to dust off those dancing shoes – our 80’s Halloween Disco could be right up your street. If it’s fun with the girls that you’re after then the Ladies Pink Lunch could be the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Whatever you are into, check out our full list of exciting Events to find out what is happening near you.
Charity of the Year opportunities are an excellent way for businesses to invest and support in local charitable organisations. We are extremely grateful for support that comes from these kinds of partnerships.
If you are an employee of an organisation that has a charity of year you can help us by nominating us at the appropriate time, alternatively if you have your own business you may wish to select us as your own and support us.
In return for choosing us your organisation can:
- Demonstrate to customers and clients that you are helping local people affected by cancer
- Meet your organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility objectives
- Secure positive PR
- Display your logo on our website and ours on yours
- Motivate staff, encourage team-building through fundraising activities and have fun!
- Offer in-house group wellbeing support, provided by us, to employees affected by cancer who cannot access our centres due to work commitments.
To discuss charity of the year opportunities in more detail please contact the Fundraising team on Tel: 01274 77 66 88 or E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
One of the simplest and easiest ways that you can help us is by spreading the word about the fantastic work that we do in the local area.
By making people aware of the important work that we do you can:
- Raise awareness in the local community so that those affected by cancer know that we are here to support them.
- Encourage more people to visit our centre and access our support services as we are here for them.
- Inspire people to support us in as many ways as they can – this ‘Ways to Help’ section is fantastic for quick win opportunities.
It doesn’t matter whether you raise £25, £250 or even £2,500 every single penny counts and will help local people affected by a cancer diagnosis.
By holding your own event you are in control of the date, the location, the guest and what you want it to be. So if you are the hostess with the mostess and want to organise an event extravaganza or if you are a bit more low key and would prefer something smaller like a coffee morning or afternoon tea with friends then do what’s best for you.
If you want to hold an event but need some inspiration we have had lots of weird and wonderful ideas over the years so give us a call and we can help you come up with a plan.
Whatever you decide to do make sure you have fun and please let us know what, when and where it is happening so that we can support you the best that we can.
Are you a money counting mogul, a database diva or an event organiser extraordinaire?
There are endless ways that you can volunteer your time and help cancer support. If you have time to give either on an adhoc basis on at regular times each week we would love to hear from you.
Our Volunteer Page gives the details of specific posts that we have available but if none of these float your boat and you are thinking about something different please still get in touch as it would be impossible for us to list every opportunity that is available.
For more information or for an informal no-obligation chat please contact the Fundraising Team on Tel: 01274 77 66 88 or E-mail: email@example.com
We officially opened our first ever charity shop in January 2017 affectionately named ‘Preloved.’ The store offers a wide selection of new and good as new items for purchase including; ladies, men’s and children’s fashion, jewellery, homewares, toys and books.
By donating and purchasing preloved items to our Preloved Shop you are ensuring that you money stays local as all proceeds will go directly towards providing practical and emotional support to those affected by a cancer diagnosis in the local area.
We have been blown away by the levels of kindness and generosity we have received so far in our shop but we always need further donations as well loyal customers to make purchases and spread the word. Next time you looking for a day out or if you live locally pop into Skipton and come and see us, we are conveniently located on Belmont Bridge in Skipton.
For those wishing to donate items to the store we also have a dedicated drop off point at the rear for donations (just ring the bell). Whether you are coming to donate, purchase or both you will be sure of a warm welcome. For more information about opening times etc. visit our Preloved Page.
